GRDC is working to revitalize the Grand River business
district between Evergreen and Asbury Park. Our goal is to create a lively and attractive shopping district for
the benefit of customers and business owners alike.
We are one of only eight districts selected by the City of Detroit for participation in
the Re$tore Detroit Program to promote neighborhood business development.
Whether you are a local business owner looking to improve your business, an entrepreneur looking
for a great new location, or a neighborhood resident that wants a quality shopping district right here in your own community,
we've got a program to meet your needs.

Facade Improvement Program
Our Facade Improvement Program helps businesses located within the Grand River business district upgrade
the appearance of their storefronts. Grants and funds are available on a matching basis for items such as new signage,
awnings, exterior lighting, new windows and more.

Grand River corridor. New light posts have already been installed and significant streetscape improvements are being
planned for 2008. We have already installed new district signage and landscaped areas.
Neighborhood Farmers' Market
GRDC sponsors a neighborhood Farmers' Market each summer and fall. The market runs from 4-8PM each Thursday
afternoon in the parking lot of Bushnell Congregational Church.from June through October. The Market features fresh
farm produce, baked goods and hand-crafted items. More than 300 shoppers per week attended the market in 2007. For more
information, call Pam Weinstein at 313-387-GRDC (4732), x103.
Looking Good for Business Awards
We work hard to keep our district clean and attractive and we know that many business owners do too.
That's why we have an annual recognition program to honor those businesses that do an exceptional job of property maintenance
and make a special effort to improve their property appearance. The Looking Good for Business Awards are handed out
each year by our Clean and Safe Task Force, composed of local community members and business people.
